A great news for chess fraternity

Lake Youth Club, in an elegant program at Komala Vilas R.B. Avenue on Saturday, the 25th March, 2023, made a gift of a high level Laptop to Sri Utsab Chatterjee, thanks to the initiative taken by Sara Bangla Daba Sangstha and Sri Atin Sengupta, Working President of KDCA. Utsab achieved International Master title in 2022 and won Silver Medal in National Junior Championship, 2022. He needed a 12 Gen Intel Core 17 Laptop for his preparation and Lake Youth Club, a noble organization, fulfilled his dream. In this context, it may be mentioned that in the past also, Lake Youth Club helped our players like Arpita Mukherjee, Koustav Kundu etc. Mr. R. Jagannathan, the President of Lake Youth Club and Arjuna Awardee Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua handed over the Laptop to Utsab amidst an applause of the spectators. Shyamol Datta, Hony. Secretary of SBDS & Atin Sengupta, Working President of KDCA and officials of Lake Youth Club were also present to grace the occasion. IM Utsab Chatterjee expressed his gratitude to Lake Youth Club, SBDS & KDCA. He also told that he wants to become a Grandmaster soon to show his honour to this gift. The mother of Utsab said few words which touched the hearts of the spectators. She told that she wants that Utsab should be a part of Lake Youth Club in future and should extend similar help and support for the chess players of next generation.
